Benefit for Catholic Charities, May 21, 2017
On Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the First Unitarian Church of Ithaca. The concert will benefit the Immigrant and Refugee Program of Catholic Charities. On the program is: Mozart String Quartet in B Flat and Philip Glass Quartet.
Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga will invite audience members to make a free will offering during the course of the event. Funds raised would support Catholic Charities' Immigrant Services program (ISP) and Refugee Resettlement program (RRP) here in Tompkins County. For the past 10 years, ISP has served hundreds of immigrants, guiding them through the processes of becoming US citizens and sponsoring family members to enter the US, assisting them in finding jobs, and providing them with financial and material assistance. Through our new refugee resettlement program, we plan to welcome 10 to 12 families from war-torn countries this year, set them up in housing, ensure that they have access to health care and social services, guide them in finding employment, and assist them in integrating into our community.
